The Servants formed in London in 1985, and were based around the carefully crafted song writing of David Westlake. The first two Servants singles, 'She's Always Hiding' and 'The Sun, A Small Star', attracted good reviews, and both made the independent singles chart.\n \nMembers were:\nDavid Westlake (vocals & guitar)\nJohn Mohan (guitar) ('till '86）\nLuke Haines (guitar, keyboards) (from '87), bass ('87 - '89)\nPhillip King (bass) ('till '86）\nAlice Readman (bass) (from '89)\nJohn Wills (drums) ('till '87)\nHugh Whitaker (drums) ('87 - '89) (ex 'The Housemartins')\nAndy Bennett (drums) (from '89).\n \nThe band played its last show at the Rock Garden in London's Covent Garden. August 21, 1991.
