Based in Madrid, Nine Stories write pop songs with pianos, guitars and other instruments that they may find around. Some people say they seem to be taken from a film soundtrack yet to be written. The lyrics, usually sung in english, deal about girls, Madrid's public transport network, about waking up late and going to work, low budget trips and some other stuff.\n \nNacho Ruiz writes those songs. Nine Stories is formed at this exact moment by:\n \nNacho Ruiz- vocals, guitars, piano, melodica, banjo, ukelele\nJavier Peña- guitars, backing vocals, glockenspiel\nJorge Ramos- bass guitar, guitar, trumpet, backing vocals\nPepo Márquez- drums, percussion, backing vocals, melodica\nFernan Álvarez- piano, organ, accordion\n \nThe band was funded in late 2008. On May 2010 they're eponymous debut album was released through Gran Derby Records (actually it was the label's first release) to rejoice of audiences and critics alike. Since then, they've been playing endlessly around Spain and Europe in places like Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Orense, Vigo, Valladolid, Valencia, Málaga, Oporto, Módena, Murcia, Vitoria, Sevilla, Granada... They also played in festivals like Primavera Sound 2010 or FIB 2011. \nOn november 2012, four of their songs were included in 'Buscando a Eimish' original soundtrack. One of those songs was written for the film and it was sung by the actress Manuela Vellés.\nOn the 25th of February 2013 their long-awaited sophomore effort was released in CD, vinyl and digital download. Titled 'Trafalgar', it was recorded in Garate Studios (Basque Country) by Kaki Arkarazo (Negu Gorriak, Kortatu, Chucho, Tulsa and thousand of others). Basque band Betagarri added horns, Greg Gobel (Tripulante Y Crucero) played clarinet and David Sagastune lead the string ensemble. Wonderful chanteuse Alondra Bentley added vocals to several songs, including 'Only She Knows', the first single.\n \nPress has unanimously praised 'Trafalgar', applauding the huge leap forward in terms of production, performance and depth of an unique band in Spain.\n
