MARIKA (born 14.12.1980) is a Lady MC, vocalist, songwriter whose career is\ndeveloped at the same time in different music styles: from reggae &\ndancehall to nu-jazz and funk. She acted in The Music Theatre of Gdansk in\na hip-hop theatrical project called '12 benches'. Moreover she has\nperformed as a supporting artist for such stars as: Macy Gray, Gentleman,\nPanjabi Hit Squad, performed also at the Top Trends 2006 Festival TRENDS\n2006 in Sopot. MARIKA‘s mother formation is Bass Medium Sound System. In\nbetween 2002-2005 the squad was called BASS MEDIUM TRINITY and was\nrepresented by 3 members: MARIKA, Frenchman and Abselektor. Album 'Mowisz i\nMasz' , including 13 tunes focused on traditional jamican riddims was the\nresult of BMT's activity. It's become a very hot stuff and has been sold\nout in a double issue. BM has been touring Poland and Europe, performing\nalongside stars such as: Gentelman, David Rodigan, Luciano, WWO, Abradab,\nGutek, Mad Crew and top Polish sound systems. MARIKA's gigs are incredible\nevents called plenty of people to the clubs.When she takes over the\nmicrophone all the clubs turn into Jamaican Embessies? Her style is a\nfusion of dancehall, funk, nu-jazz, nu-soul and reggae. Album 'Plenty' has\nbeen released 22.08.2008.\nPLENTY - Marika's first solo album breaks down a stereotype that Marika is\na purely reggae artist.
