Koffee Brown are a neo-soul duo consisting of male singer Fonz and female singer Vernell Sales, discovered and signed to producer Kay Gee's then-newly formed Divine Mill records, best known for their 2001 song "After Party" written by: All-Star, Teron Beall, Nate Butler off their album Mars\u002FVenus. The two were put together as a duo upon the suggestion of industry veteran Clive Davis to Kaygee, but apart from "After Party," hit #44 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #10 on the Billboard US R&B charts, their second single, "Weekend Thing," only appeared on the R&B charts at a lowly #71, failing to chart altogether on the Hot 100, and no follow-up to Mars\u002FVenus has ever been released.\r\n\r\nVernell Sales can also be heard on Case's track "Touch Me Tease Me" on The Nutty Professor (1996 film) soundtrack and also as the female voice on Next's hit "Too Close."\r\n\r\nKoffee Brown's Mars\u002FVenus album was the first song placement, #10 "I Got Love (Scars), by singer\u002FSongwriter Andre "mrDEYO" Deyo who wrote "Jenny From The Block" the following year.\r\n
