by  Johnny LoftusPost-punk noisemakers Giddy Motors emerged from London in 1999. Originally comprised of the fabulously named Gaverick de Vis (guitar\u002Fvocals) and Manu Ros (drums\u002Fbass), the band was soon augmented with the addition of full-time bassman Gordon Ashdown. Giddy Motors debuted with a 7" on FatCat before heading to Chicago to record a full-length with legendary iconoclast Steve Albini. Issued by FatCat in September 2002, Make It Pop mixed the arty punk of the Jesus Lizard with noise experiments, blasts of sampled saxophone, and textures of free jazz. A U.S. tour followed in summer 2003. The following year, Justin Stone became Giddy Motors' new bassist. Thanks to the band's busy touring schedule and rejiggered lineup, their sound became even more focused and they recorded their second album, Do Easy, over the course of four weekends in 2005. Fat Cat released the album in 2006.
