While Wilderness were on hiatus, McCann recorded a collection of raw, rustic tunes that nodded to the likes of Bon Iver and Grizzly Bear. Wilderness sprang back to life in early 2008, and the Lord Dog Bird's self-titled debut full-length was released on Jagjaguwar that summer.\r\n
