Fresh out of Johannesburg come the Hypomaniacs. Music produced by Shaun, and fronted by vocalist, Stacey. An edgy duo with a serious taste for the more aggressive, ‘hard-as-nails’ side of the dance music world. Their vocal-led sound ruthlessly melts electro, rock, punk and dubstep with uncompromising impact. Their individual formative roots ranged from playing in metal bands, to drum and bass Dj's, which eventually led them to production, in pursuit of a new sound they could call their own – bridging the gap between vocally dominated rock, with the energetic tempo of underground dance music. And so, in late 2011, Hypomaniacs were born – performing original music with live vocals, tailored toward the alternative thinkers alike. \nAttracting interest from overseas, they have had multiple releases, and are currently signed to the German label, Freakz Me Out.\n \nIn October 2013, they ventured north and had their first European tour, playing 7 shows, in Germany, Italy and France, in just over a month.\n \n…“We want to create something different, original, exciting. Something undiluted. Separated from the mass expectation of what dance music, or music in general should be.”
