When a band names its second album after itself, it often indicates that the members have found the quintessence of their sound. It is indeed the case for The Megaphonic Thrift. \nThe Norwegian four-piece has taken giant strides forward since 2009 when they released promising noisy tones and played on our Pavilion Junior stage. \nWith the second album, these Norwegians have slit a crack in the universe from where melodious noise rock with an often psychedelic edge flows. \nAt the same time, the band is able to write concise melodies. The New Yorker-cool, and slightly exhausted, male voice of Richard Myklebust is challenged by the angel-like, ethereal female voice of Linn Frøkedal.
