Manrico Montero Calzadiaz\n1973 born and lives in Mexico City.\nPhotography by Ruben Leyva\n--------------------------------------------------------------------------------\nManrico is one of the most important activists in Mexico since the last 10 years in the area of the Field Recordings\u002FNature Recording\u002FSoundscape Composition\u002FPhonography\u002FNature Concrete Music\u002FSoundscape Theory & Workshops\u002FSound Interventions in Public Spaces\u002FSound Installations related with Field Recordings, etc.\nManrico performs Free Improvisation sessions as solo artist or with ensembles.\nHe composes and produces also Digi-Acoustic Music and has released ep's, tracks and remixes in labels and net-labels like Sem Label, Rain Music, Avatar\u002FOhm Editions, Eko Netlabel\u002FIod, Cyan Recs, Static Discos, Post-Disco, Mahorka, etc.\nManrico has performed live and exhibited pieces in Festivals, Museums and Bienales such as Video Dumbo(Brooklyn, Ny), Red Cat Gallery(Los Angeles),Custom Control by EMPAC(Troy, Ny), Lascas Festival(Quebec), CalArts(Los Angeles), MexArtes Festival(Berlin), Transitio.MX(Mx), Centro Cultural Juan de Salazar(Asuncion, Paraguay), Boulder Museum of Contemporary Arts(Boulder, Colorado), Mutek.Mx(Mx), Museo Tamayo(Mx), Interface Festival(Mx), Festival Arte Sonoro@ExTeresa Arte Actual(Mx), Bienal de Electroacustica@Sala Nezahualcoyotl(Mx), among others.\n--------------------------------------------------------------------------------\nBesides his sound projects, Manrico did studies of Philosophy\u002FPhenomenology of Religion\u002FSanskrit Linguistics\u002FGerman Literature\u002FAncient and Modern Japanese Philosophy, and many years ago was involved in some Philosophy research projects at the "Centro de Investigaciones Filologicas @ UNAM", where he collaborated as translator in projects of poetry and philosophy.
