简介:
Hadrian’s Union are\nStew Simpson 33, born Newcastle upon Tyne, Vocal and guitars\nDanny Hart 21, born Carlisle Cumbria, Violin.\nFeaturing Mike France on fretless bass.\nHadrian’s Union are an English Contemporary Folk Duo with support on all albums and some live shows from six string fretless bass player Mike France. \n Stew and Danny met in 2008 at the Carlisle Folk and Blues Club, Stew was a punk rocker dabbling in acoustic music while Danny was a fulltime Bluegrasser. A pairing of these musical styles seemed terribly unlikely, the messy world of Alternative Rock and the tidy and sharp dressed world of Bluegrass seemed polls apart. But this difference is what brought Hadrian's Union together to make there unique blend of thought provoking lyrics with sharp acoustic passionate musicianship.\nThe combination of meaningful lyrics and heartfelt playing have been compared to ‘Show of Hands’ and ‘Jez Lowe and the bad pennies’. \nIn two years Hadrian's Union have written and recorded two albums, performed at folk clubs and festivals all over the UK, finished a degree course (Danny), appeared in the background of several feature films (Stew) and built a house in France (Mike).\nFestivals include Music on the Marr (Cumbria), Ireby Music Festival (Cumbria), Devauden Music Festival (Wales), Rochester Sweeps Festival (Kent), Broadstairs Folk Week, Support slots have included Tom McConville, Roy Bailey and Chris Wood.
