Five talented Newcastle-based guys got together in early 2011 to form The Viper Creek Band. They believed that country music in Australia was ready for an exciting new sound so they started rehearsing and working on material. \n\nGood times, friendships and having a beer formed the themes for the songs on their first EP ‘Crazy Tonight’. \n\nLead vocalist Damien Baguley and guitarist Jochen Walter wrote the material and each member worked on the arrangements, individual sounds and harmonies.\n\nSome of the best names in the business were hired to produce the EP - Mik McCartin (Troy Cassar Daley, Bluezone, Cathrine Britt, Lyn Bowtell) came onboard as producer and Michael Muchow (The McClymonts, Kasey Chambers, Catherine Britt) played Banjo and Mandolin on a few of the tracks. The EP was recorded in six days at Rockettown Studios and mastered by Jeff McCormack (Kasey Chambers) at the Music Cellar.
