ARIA ORION , a new project from composer\u002Fmusician Jules Gimbrone, explores boundaries between chaos and control by juxtaposing experimental song structure\u002Fmusicality with soulful, often simple, melodic phrasing. Dramatics for the body and spirit.\nARIA ORION recently performed a new series of work that developed out of a collaboration with the choreographer Jen Rosenblit of Bottom Heavy Productions. The resulting piece, THAT SICK SOUND, was performed live in Northampton, MA at the A.P.E Gallery and most recently at the Judson Church as part of their Movement Research series. This collaboration was highly successful and may lead to further collaborations in the future. To listen and see the recording of the Judson Performance go here, or to their myspace page here. \nThe ensemble of musicians that worked on THAT SICK SOUND with Jules proved to be a dynamic combination, and the group plans on continuing their involvement with ARIA ORION. \nARIA ORION intends on recording a full length piece (or series of pieces) in the spring of 2008, while continuing to play shows during the upcoming months.
