Dark Red Dark Blue is the hybrid vision of brothers Stephen and Paul van Kampen. The van Kampen brothers have garnered a dedicated following with their solo projects "SAvK" and "The Magnetic North" as well as their epic rock experience "Beija Flor", but with this brand new endeavor the van Kampens have torn up the playbook and gone back to the basics that captured their hearts when they first tried their hands at making music as kids. Stephen and Paul have succesfully woven together bright and energetic anthems with long brooding expanses to create a sound that can appeal to both cerebral music lovers as well as those who just wish for a beat to move their feet to. Stefan Smith of "Cold Water" and "Crescent Heights" has taken the roll of bass and keeps the van Kampen brothers grounded and driving, while Distance Bullock of "Reuben and the Dark" as well as his own solo effort brings tight and violent drums that propel the songs forward to a feverish pitch. With their debut record set to release in late 2012, Dark Red Dark Blue are ready to take on Canada and the world.
