Via Nuon collaborated with members of Boxhead Ensemble, Edith Frost, Shannon Wright, and others on Bevel's 2002 folk\u002Falt-country record, Where Leaves Block the Sun. Penned as early as 1998 and as late as 2002, Bevel decided work new tracks and rework old tracks for an EP release in 2004. Down the Puppet String, Marionettes EP was released by Jagjaguwar in January 2004.
