Boris Schmidt began playing music at the age of 7. He started out with classical saxophone, soon followed by piano and harmony. Starting in 1998 he attended jazz saxophone workshops in Rossignol (Belgium) with Alexandre Plumacker, Nicolas Dory, Jacques Pirotton and André Klenes as his first teachers.
