The son of a music teacher, begins to play the piano on his own, and at fourteen shall be presented as "child prodigy" in shows that accompanies jazz bands. Then befriended Johnny Alf, who encouraged him to study harmony, arrangement and composition. Soon begins to act as a professional in the William Furneaux Orchestra, and in 1962 form the "Three Americas" group that plays at parties and dances. \r\n\r\nThe next year is going to Sao Paulo and integrates the "Quartet Sheba", who writes the first LP. Then comes the "Sambalanço Trio" alongside Airto Moreira and Humberto Claiber, recording an album with Lennie Dale and win awards. At the end of the decade is hired by TV Record in São Paulo, where he works as an instrumentalist and arranger, and record albums with his new group, "Sound Three". Participated as a judge of music festivals of Record.
