简介:
California-native Keeley Reed is all things sunny, romantic, and sweet. Her debut EP What If the Stars Fell is a honeyed collection of pop tunes that possess both relatable lyrics and the kind of melodies that you find yourself humming all day long. \nThe first time Keeley sang for an audience was at the age of eight when she auditioned to sing a solo line for the children’s choir at Saddleback Church (Pastor Rick Warren wrote best-seller “The Purpose Driven Life”). Both delighted and scared, she fell in love with music. Soon after, Keeley began taking piano and voice lessons and in high school she picked up the guitar. Throughout her teen years she was heavily involved leading music for teen services at Saddleback. During that time she also discovered a passion for jazz music and dreamed of one day singing in jazz clubs. Keeley Reed never fantasized about becoming a star. She just wanted to sing. \nAfter high school she went to Azusa Pacific University and majored in commercial music. At APU Keeley got the opportunity to study with Kristin Korb, one of the premier jazz voice teachers in the country. In 2008, Keeley attended the prestigious Contemporary Music Center in Martha’s Vineyard. During that time she spent an intense three month period focusing solely on songwriting, performing, and learning the intricacies of the music industry. The intensive proved worthwhile as one of the songs Keeley penned at Martha’s Vineyard not only made it on to the EP but is the title track: “What If the Stars Fell.” \nWhat If the Stars Fell, recorded in Nashville and produced by Keith Everette Smith, is a collection of five songs all written or co-written by Keeley. The EP explores the different facets of love: “The good, bad, ups, and downs.” Keeley’s goal for the album is for people to listen to it and feel like the songs express something that they feel themselves. “I love listening to music and being able to connect right away. I hope that people listen to the album and relate to it. I want my music to be a light and encouragement,” says Keeley.\nAt 23 years old, Keeley Reed is only just beginning this exciting musical journey. So what does the future hold for Keeley? “I would love to tour and share my music with people. I just want to sing for people and just do music,” Keeley says with a smile. \nKeeley Reed just wants to sing. And with relatable writing and a soulfully sweet sound that bends the ear of any listener, you can bet that Keeley Reed will do just that for many years to come.
