Ahmadu Jarr (Jah) was one of the founding members of the group EGBA in the mid-70´s and played with them for six years. As the group gradually became more jazz- oriented, he left in order to devote more time to traditional African music. With this aim, he established The Highlife Orchestra in 1984.
