As one would expect from Audie\r\nBlaylock, Redline consists of a winning team of exceptional musicians and vocalists with Jason\r\nJohnson on mandolin and vocals, Matthew Wallace on bass and vocals, Evan Ward on banjo and\r\nvocals, and Patrick McAvinue on fiddle. “We're excited about this band and are ready to get out there\r\nand play every day of the year if we can and entertain audiences with some great music,” he says. \r\n\r\nIn 2005 and 2006, Audie Blaylock and Redline had the honor of being nominated for the International\r\nBluegrass Music Association's Emerging Artist of the Year award. Audie Blaylock and Redline bring\r\nthe energy of the early days of bluegrass to every show.\r\n\r\nFans of Blaylock’s are looking forward to new and exciting things from him as well. Grammy award\r\nwinning producer, Carl Jackson says, “Audie Blaylock is one of the most talented folks in bluegrass\r\nmusic today. He’s a top-notch guitarist and vocalist and I’m very pleased to know there’s a new project\r\non the horizon. When Audie is involved, you can bet the music will be bluegrass at its finest.”\r\n\r\nBlaylock and Redline have been hard at work: adding dates; choosing songs; and recording since the\r\nbluegrass world saw him add another IBMA award to his existing list of honors. That was in October\r\n2007 as Rounder recording artists Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper featuring Audie Blaylock\r\nbrought home the 2007 Instrumental Group of the Year award at the 18th Annual International\r\nBluegrass Music Awards show held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, TN.\r\n\r\n“I’m extremely honored to receive the award that so many prestigious and talented musicians have been\r\nnominated for and received in the past. This is a great honor for myself and the entire group,” said Audie\r\nBlaylock. “This is particularly humbling when you consider the caliber of the past recipients such as\r\nRicky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Nickel Creek, Del McCoury and others,” he adds.\r\n\r\nAudie has been performing for years with some of bluegrass music’s most distinguished acts including\r\nthe great Jimmy Martin and Rhonda Vincent & The Rage as well as doing session work that earned\r\nhim a Grammy nomination for Best Bluegrass Album and an IBMA nomination for Recorded Event\r\nof the Year for" A Tribute to Jimmy Martin: The King of Bluegrass." This group project included Audie\r\nBlaylock on guitar and vocals along with a stellar lineup of musicians including former Sunny Mountain\r\nBoys J.D. Crowe, Paul Williams, and Kenny Ingram. He has also performed with the legendary Red\r\nAllen, The Lynn Morris Band and songwriting great Harley Allen. Audie is also a four-time IBMA\r\nGuitar Player of the Year nominee.\r\n\r\nWith the release of his first solo CD, Trains are the Only Way to Fly, Country Standard Time said:\r\n"From the opening title cut to the finale, "Pages of Time,"there is no mistaking Audie Blaylock's music\r\nas anything but hard driving, traditional-style bluegrass."\r\n\r\nBorn in El Paso, Texas into a family whose roots go back to the hills of Virginia and Tennessee, Audie\r\nlearned to play guitar and sing with his parents and siblings, and went on to play locally in the Lansing,\r\nMichigan area where he grew up. In 1982, at age 19, Audie Blaylock joined Jimmy Martin and The\r\nSunny Mountain Boys and spent nine years on the road learning the craft of bluegrass from one of the\r\nmusic's first-generation legends.\r\n
