I would be that weirdo girl crying in the audience.. because my entire being ached to be on that stage. Nobody really knew I could even sing!\r\n\r\nI was so low key about my singing.. I was so shy about it for some reason. I was an awkward loner kind of kid, I loved to dance and act because I felt I could be some one else.. I was this new character.. but I felt so vulnerable singing.. especially singing something I had written."\r\n\r\nBy the age of 14, Amanda had created a private home studio. She recorded using her computer and a tiny dollar store microphone. Though her nerves held her from singing live to an audience, to her little plastic microphone, she could pour her heart out. She asked for and was able to procure voice training from two excellent teachers in Vancouver, who both commended her and supported her dream to sing.\r\n\r\nBy 16, Amanda was ready to take the next step; she made a promise to herself that \r\nif anyone knew her, they must know that she sang. If asked to sing.. she must sing.. no matter how hard her heart beat and her hands shook.\r\n\r\nThis Vow began Amanda's networking journey. She very quickly began to meet artists\u002Fproducers and engineers that would introduce and guide her in her lifelong obsession and she has since recorded, worked and opened for artists she thought she could only dream of, such as; Too short , Bobby Valentino, Jeremih, Brian McKnight, Tony Toni Tone, SWV and Ginuwine and in June 2011 was a headline act in Bristol, UK for the Press Play Est.
