简介:
The Snowdroppers are an Australian blues rock band consisting of Johnny Wishbone on lead vocals, banjo and occasionally harmonica, Pauly K on lead guitar, Nick London on bass guitar and Cougar Jones on drums. Their second studio album, Moving Out Of Eden , was released in March 2013. The band has toured both nationally and internationally.\nThe Snowdroppers came together at the end of 2007, playing their first live gig as the music fill for a burlesque show, titled "Good Drugs and Bad Woman". After being received so well at the show, the four musicians decided to pursue a future together and took the name, The Snowdroppers, from the 1920s Sydney slang term for cocaine addicts. The core band members consist of Wishbone, Pauly K, London and Cougar Jones. \nThe band draws sonic influence from blues and roots, rock, rockabilly and punk music. They have been likened to great rock acts such as Midnight Oil , INXS and The Living End . Their debut album, Too Late to Pray , was released in 2009, followed by their second album Moving Out Of Eden almost four years later.\n"Moving Out of Eden boasts a much heavier focus on classic rock beats, vocals and overall themes, establishing the bands ability to use this formula perfectly" - Lucinda Osborn-Crowley, The Music.com\nTheir early single Do The Stomp (from debut album, Too Late To Pray ) made impact on alternative Australian radio as well as the soundtrack to the hit movie, Red Dog in 2011. In March 2013, The Snowdroppers not only debuted at #1 on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Jazz and Blues chart, but also embarked on their second national tour.\nThe band have played at Australian festivals including Big Day Out , East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival , Come Together Music Festival , Village Fair , Peats Ridge, The Byron Bay Blues and Roots festival, Festival of the Sun and Gympie Muster. In October 2010, they toured New Zealand supporting Gin Wigmore .
