简介:
“If you haven’t heard of Allison Bencar, you probably will soon.” ~Cool Cleveland\nAllison Bencar was born in Cleveland Ohio, a city steeped in rock and roll tradition. As a singer-songwriter and band member, Allison has performed numerous shows throughout Cleveland and Nashville. In early 2012 Allison moved to Nashville to further her career as a vocalist, songwriter and vocal coach.\nAllison grew up listening to an array of artists and bands including Patsy Cline, Roy Orbison, The Beatles, Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers, Fleetwood Mac, Radiohead and Pat Benatar to name a few. At the young age of 15 Allison walked into a recording studio for the first time and knew she had found her calling. Since then she has been writing and evolving as a performer and artist. Over the last few years Allison has been growing as an independent artist and writer while recording demo’s, playing shows and writer’s nights and teaching voice at The School of Rock in Franklin, Tennessee.\nAt the end of 2013 Allison began recording for her first full-length album titled First Call featuring 11 of her original songs. Not only did Allison sing on the album but co-produced it with friend and fellow Cleveland native, Rob Muzick. Allison and Rob spent a couple days at Eastwood Studios in East Nashville alongside Engineer, Eric Fritsch. Bass player John Senchuk said of the experience, “It was refreshing to work with someone so creative and fearlessly herself! Allie knew what she wanted in the studio and her passion about her work is contagious!”\nScottish American Singer-Songwriter and fellow Nashville Recording Artist, Laura Mcghee said of Allison, “I am so proud to have had the chance to play music with the talented artist Allison Bencar. Her music is soulful with a fresh approach.”\nFirst Call was mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Chris Grainger (Wilco, Sixpence None the Richer, Switchfoot, The Kopecky Family Band).\nAllison’s music is a soulful blend of Pop\u002FRock with Country and Folk influences. From the haunting, dream-like and pedal-steel driven tunes such as Where Do the Lonely Go, Broken Porch and Anywhere With You reminiscent of artists such as Alison Krauss and First Aid Kit, to the exciting pop-oriented and percussion driven break-up anthem Sorry, the very relatable and lyrically truthful title track First Call along with some sassy and unapologetic rock songs in the vein of artists such as Grace Potter ; Allison takes her listeners on an emotionally eventful and honest musical journey.
