More than a pianist and composer, Nita Sinaga unveils a surprising new dimension to her musical side with her debut as a singer and songwriter. Drawn to globally-inspired rhythms and jazz harmonies since her Indonesian childhood in Jakarta, Nita creates her own lyrical soundscape in her first EP, MORE THAN MORE, blending captivating melodies, jazz harmonies, Latin rhythms and an underlying groove of her own.\nAs a composer, her study at University of Miami in Studio Jazz Writing and participation as a composer in the Henry Mancini Institute and highly competitive ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop in Los Angeles were pivotal in solidifying her aspirations as a composer for visual media. Nita’s musical palette is wide-ranging, influenced by her classical piano training, her love of jazz vocal ensembles, gospel music, Latin music and more. Nita’s Indonesian-Thai roots give life to her musical curiosity and openness to fusing different sounds. Equally comfortable writing for jazz big band and symphonic orchestra as well as duos and smaller ensembles, Nita’s original compositions reveal an alluring texture of sound and song.\nNita’s first EP, More Than More, was internationally released on February 14, 2014 (Valentine’s Day), a labor of love featuring an eclectic ensemble of Los Angeles’ finest genre-defying musicians.
