Robin Dijkstra AKA Da Landlord, born in Schiedam on january 6th 1989, started making music in 2006. At the time he was always listening to productions from producers such as Easy Mo Bee, Dj Premier and Pete Rock. This influenced him to start chopping up old jazztunes, soulbreaks and almost everything he thought was worth using. After a year or 2, when Da Landlord was about 18, he started hearing that his music was getting a unique sound. He then decided to put in some serious work in to his music. From the start he would always listen to the beat first and if he liked the beat he would spend time on listening to what the artist had to say. The beats inspired him more than the lyrics. The main reason why he never started writing songs himself was his ability to travel to a different dimension when he’s making or listening to beats he likes. \nAfter some years of producing Da Landlord really started to get a sound of his own, like some kind of trademark. Listeners could hear it immediately when a production was his. Original sample usage and knocking drums with a good dose of ‘’IN YA FACE” is what describes his music. This together makes that his sound has that nasty layer, which in his opinion, defines the sound of the East coast 90’s hip-hop.\nDa Landlord recently graduated from a study for Producers\u002F Musicians and Sound-Engineering. His album ''Nostalgie'' (2014) was part of his examns. His first album ''When We Called Hiphop Rap'' was released in 2010. He already produced for over 50 artists and the list is still growing...
