Throughout his early teens Nyakz was playing basketball with the dream of one day becoming a NBA professional. However this all changed once Nyakz picked up a microphone to sing at the age of 15. He quotes ‘My mother made me do instrument lessons as a young child but I never cared or realised the importance of those lessons and what they would do for me later on in my life’. During his 6th form Nyakz would practise and practise but never got his just dues. Nyakz was even part of a youth choir where they would practise every single week and participate in various shows around London but Nyakz was not happy with the progression and decided to venture off. Inspired by the likes of R kelly, Joe, Tyrese and Trey songz, Nyakz decided that in order to be a true artists you must write and produce your own original material that people will love. Armed with this knowledge Nyakz released his first 7-track E.P (which he wrote and produced all the tracks ) while he was studying politics in university at the age of 19. The cd gained a lot of attention and gave Nyakz various opportunities to perform a long side a few Big Name UK artists. After all this Nyakz is now in the process of creating his debut album which will be released some time in the winter. \n
