Psychic Friend is a side project for Imperial Teen guitarist\u002Fvocalist Will Schwartz. After having made a dance-pop record under the name Hey Willpower in collaboration with Tussle's Tomo Yasuda in 2008, Schwartz next began working with multi-instrumentalist Bo Boddie on a project that was inspired by '70s singer\u002Fsongwriters like Todd Rundgren and Carole King, and based around Schwartz's piano playing. Psychic Friend played their first show at San Francisco's Noisepop Fest in February of 2012
