An acoustic, folk-based project, Chris and Carla debuted in 1993 with Shelter for an Evening, a live collection recorded in Germany. Two years later, they resurfaced with Life Full of Holes, a studio LP cut with R.E.M.s Peter Buck and members of Britains Tindersticks. Nights Between Stations, another live effort — this one recorded in Greece — followed later in 1995.
