Black Empire is a Canadian Black metal band from Duparquet, a northern town in the province of Quebec. Formed in 2001 by Emmanuel Audet (guitar\u002Fvocal), Julien Soldati (Drum) & Jean-Pierre Martel (guitar\u002FBass). They wrote some songs & learned a couple blackdeath metal covers from bands like Death, Deicide, Dark Funeral, Dissection & Emperor. They found the band name & added Jocelyn Denis (GuitarVocal) before playing their first gig sharing the stage with Cryptik Howling. A year later, the band played three new songs in a contest sharing the stage this time with Descend Into Nothingness.\nWinter of 2003, the idea of a demo had to be forgotten. Jocelyn left the band, Audeath & Julius moved on to Rouyn-Noranda.\nWinter of 2004, Audeath joined Cryptik Howling as bass player, thus marking the end of Black Empire's first era...\nWinter of 2006, Audeath & Julius realized that less and less things satisfied them musically... The only bands they were able to listen were Immortal, Marduk, 1349 , Satyricon & Necrophobic but no flame of desire of writting music\n \nThen, Dissection released Reinkaos, it was a revelation. At that moment they knew they had to give life to the song in their head, to the Black Empire feeling. Flowing through their veins & soul for far too long, it had to be unleashed. Reforged in the flame that burns inside they began the writing of a demo & album.\nWinter of 2007, Dominic Mongrain Theriault (Cryptik Howling) alias Tal joined the empire as bass player & vocals, helping the band in many ways.\nWinter of 2008, Christian Mongrain Theriault (Cryptik Howling) alias Stian completed the live line-up on guitars at the black metal mayhem festival in Montreal & other gigs with Eclipse Eternal, Wolven Ancestry, Peste Noire & Monarque.\nWinter of 2009, they recorded a demo entitled Crown of a million kings, availlable by the band members only. Tal left the band due to lack of time but still remains present in Black Empire's soul & family. Later the same year, Marthell (Sector, Sledgehammer) brought back his old school touch in the sound & playing of Black Empire's music on guitars.\n \nWinter of 2011, the recording of Black Empire's first full-length album begins. In april they shared the stage with Celestia & Forteresse.\n \nWinter of 2012, Sebastien Gagnon alias ZHORGH join the band as guitarist to replace Marthell & Mathieu Hardy alias MORHATOUS join as the bass player\n \nWinter of 2013, Some gigs with Eclipse Eternal & Share the stage with Nargaroth at messe des morts 2.5 for the Released of the first full lenght album 2000 AD.\n \nWinter of 2014, back on the road for Infernal Alliance Tour with Obscurcis Romancia, Hollow & Daedalean Complex .\nZhorgh left Black Empire to focus on personal project.\nBefore the snow disappear they engage the writing & studio process of the second album \n \nWinter of 2015 end of the recording process for Darkness is my Throne . Release annonced for June 27 in Rouyn-Noranda with SETH (France) and Hollow\nline-up:\nAudeath: Guitar & vocals\nJulius : Drums\nZhorg : Guitar\nMorhatous: Bass
