The Television Sky is a Melbourne-based instrumental rock trio. Their music is a sultry fusion of classical and post-rock influences. \nOn 6 November 2011 the group officially released their debut record We trust that the moon shall guide us through thier makeshift independent label Emaciated Records and signed a distribution deal with MGM. The record was launched launched with a successful headline show at The Workers Club.\nA significant promotional campaign was executed in the lead-up to the launch, including radio interviews with RRR's Owen McKern on his program Delivery and with Maddy Mac on Homebrew, PBS. Beat magazine ran a small feature article and an interview appeared in Inpress. Paid advertising was run across all these platforms along with street poster and social media campaigns. \nThe band’s live show incorporates an elaborate visual projection featuring kaleidoscopic Mandelbrot fractal progressions. \nThe record was well-received on local Melbourne independent radio, with significant airplay on a number of PBS and RRR shows and every track on the album being played across both stations. It has also been featured as record of the week on the program Fade To Yellow on independent station KOOP 91.7FM in Austin, Texas, USA. \nWe trust that the moon shall guide us is now on shelves in JB Hi-Fi stores across Melbourne through MGM and has sold nationally and internationally through Bandcamp and iTunes. \nThe Television Sky are currently working on their debut studio album.
