Biographyby Mike DaRoncoFormed by two Auckland, New Zealand, natives who only go by the names of Dion and Jimmy, the two guitarists\u002Fvocalists got together as the D4 in 1998 after branching out from their former band, Nothing at All. With their self-titled, self-released 1999 debut EP, the D4 would capture a ruckus of AC\u002FDC\u002FMotörhead-fueled garage-punk that would eventually follow on the self-titled CD EP and Ladies Man single, both of which came out in 2000. The next year, the D4 stayed on their self-releasing spree in 2001 with their first full-length, entitled 6Twenty.
