The Italian violist Martina Forni studied with Eddo Lenzi at the Conservatory of Verona and subsequently with Michael Gieler and Nobuko Imai at the Amsterdam Conservatory, where she graduated with honours.\n\nShe performed in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra as a substitute starting in 2003 and was a member of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Academy during the 2007–8 season. In 2009, Forni joined the viola section of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra.\n\nIn addition to her work as an orchestral player, she regularly performs (sometimes as principal) as a member of various Baroque ensembles, such as Anima Eterna Brugge and La Chambre Philharmonique in Paris. She is also an enthusiastic chamber musician: she is a member of the Ensemble Lumaka and regularly performs with Asko|Schoenberg.
