Pam is the daughter of loving, strong, Christian parents who have been married for more than 50 years. Their values and life lessons have made her the woman she is today.\nPam Saulsby is an Emmy-award winning journalist, keynote speaker, recording artist, with hands-on community involvement.\nShe has enjoyed a distinguished 32-year career as a television journalist, and for 20 years was one of Raleigh’s most well-known and trusted local news anchors.\nPam’s career began in 1980 in West Palm Beach, Florida at WPTV-TV. She worked as a general assignment reporter. In 1981, she moved to Miami where she spent 10 years as a reporter and news anchor.\nIn 1991, Pam’s career led her to Raleigh, North Carolina, where she joined the news team at WRAL-TV.\nPam is a graduate of the University of Florida in Gainesville. In 1980, she earned a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism. She chose Political Science as her minor.\nThroughout her career, Pam has received numerous honors and awards including one National Emmy Award, and two regional Emmy awards.\nIn 1986 Pam was named a Distinguished Woman of North Carolina.\nIn 2010 and 2011, Pam was named best local news anchor by Metro Magazine.\nIn 2010, Pam was the Honorary Chairwoman of the Komen Race for the Cure in Raleigh. She has received numerous honors for her participation in the fight against breast cancer. Pam was recognized for using her own video camera to document the journey of two local women fighting cancer.\nShe serves on the advisory board of Family Health Ministries.. A non-government organization providing health care to the people of Haiti. Pam was invited to join FHM after her coverage of the earthquake that hit Haiti in 2010.\nPam also volunteers at the Durham VA Medical Center—singing to sick and wounded veterans.\nPam has one daughter, Ashley Marie Gibson, who lives in Chicago, Illinois. Ashley works as an educator in the Teach for America Program.\nIn 2005, Pam took a leap of faith and began vocal studies that would in short order lead to the realization of a dream: to sing and record music.\nIn 2010, Pam released an album of jazz covers called “The Full Measure of a Woman”. She is now working on a new music project that will include a collection of songs to honor the military.\nPam has a big heart for the military. Her father was a Sergeant in the United States Army. She was born at Fort Benning, Georgia.\nIn Her Own Words \nOn the weekends I love to: Sing at clubs, restaurants, festivals in the Triangle.\nThe high school, college or pro sports teams I root for are: the Denver Broncos, University of Florida Gators, Carolina Panthers, Miami Heat, and Charlotte Bobcats.\nIf I’m watching a movie or listening to music, it’s probably: I love watching epic films, drama adventure and comedy.
