They seamlessly progress from the djentiest of grooves to epic prog-inspired melodies that will warm you to the soul. If you’re into insanely progressive instrumentals which combine intricate polyrhythms, shredding, blast beats, as well as melodic and ambient overtones, this is a band you have to check out! Their first full-length album “Between Mirrors: The Quantum Immortality” was released on Subliminal Groove Records in December 2012 it garnered a dedicated following and defined the sound of a band that has grown into something truly special. Their sophomore record “Primitives” which was self-produced, mixed and mastered by the band at their studio in Indianapolis shows the extent to which The Room Colored Charlatan has truly mastered their craft. Inspired by the compositions of metal wizards such as The Contortionist and Tesseract while creating a an epic drama inspired sound akin to the soundscapes of Hans Zimmer The Room Colored Charlatan seems to have a sound from the future, and with the release of “Primitives” in May of 2014 they have set out to show mankind how primitive they still are.
